The Settings Menu Is Your Battery's Best Friend
Most people never open the graphics settings on a mobile game, and I get it, they're buried and full of jargon. But five minutes in that menu can double how long you play on one charge.
The biggest win is almost always the frame rate cap. Dropping from 60 to 30 fps is barely noticeable in a slow RPG and cuts power draw a lot. The second is resolution scaling, which some games hide under a vague slider. Nudge it down a notch and see if you even notice.
Brightness matters more than the in-game settings sometimes. On OLED phones, darker games and lower brightness genuinely save juice. That's part of why a moody game like Hollow Lantern lasts longer on my phone than a neon racer at full glow.
Don't forget the little stuff: turn off screen effects, background music if you're using your own, and any "high quality shadows" toggle. Individually they're small, but stacked together they keep the phone cooler and the battery steadier through a long session.
